Lateral knee stabilization

I have been having an issue with my right knee lately (and to a lesser extent with my left one). After some sprinting sessions on harder surfaces whenever I touch the insertion of my tibial collateral ligament at the femur I feel pain.

I know I am a pronator and that my knee tends to bend inwards with every step, is this due to some kind of muscular inefficiency? Are orthotics a viable solution?

Go see a physio if you can, a hands-on assesment is a billion times better than guessing over the internet.

The knee is a simple hinge joint so the problem is most likely at the ankle/foot or up at the hip and sometimes both. If your knee rotates inwards you might want to start by looking at the at hip muscles that internally rotate the femur.

Yes, orthotics are a good solution. Pronation is hard to correct via therapy. 20 passes of therapy to every 20,000 pronated steps is not good odds.

Do orthotics have an effect at max speed sprinting?

An effect? I will say that generally you would want a seperate pair of orthotics for daily wear and also for your spikes (different orthotic design).

Ok. Gonna have to visit the physio.
I noticed that while striking the ground my foot rolls outwards, and it is then when the knee collapses. It may be just an arch problem.

WOW I just found the cause of the problem!!! I also have collapsing movement on the left leg so it is strange that I donĀ“t have that pain in it, so I started looking what attaches to the medial condyle:

Yesterday I had a tremendous cramp in my right adductor that lasted like 5 minutes. It was only after that that I noticed the pain. So it may have been the adductor that pulled from my knee, thus the pain is located that high in the condyle.

Thank you guys for the answers!
