Kemboi, Limo still missing from camp

Commonwealth Games team captain Ezekiel Kemboi failed to show up at the Kenyan camp on Thursday afternoon.
Coach Daniel Kororia had indicated the 3,000m steeplechase Olympic champion would link up with the rest of the athletes, but he did not turn up.
Other prominent absentees include Benjamin Limo and Augustine Choge.
The pair are expected to compete in both the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the World Cross Country Championships, a reason that has been advanced for their
failure to show up at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
John Anzrah, who majors in sprints, on Thursday said it was hard for the duo to train at Kasarani since the facilities there favoured track athletes.
Limo and Choge were given a wild card by Athletics Kenya to take part in the cross-country after qualifying for the Commonwealth Games.
Choge had earlier asked AK to give runners the freedom to pick their favoured training locations. The two will be racing in the 5,000m at the ‘Club’ Games and the 4km senior men race during the World Cross Country Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, in April.
"We should consider (the fact) that these athletes have a tough
program in trying to balance both the Commonwealth and the cross country events," Anzrah said.
Meanwhile, Anzrah says the response to training by athletes in
camp has been good and predicts a successful campaign in Melbourne.
He says the sprinters have been in top form and could upset the formbook at the Games.
“Having seen Ezra Sambu and Thomas Musembi train, I can say with confidence that they can make the finals of the 400m.”
