he did a 3.9 40y a while back.
Yep i heard 3.8-3.9.
From what I have seen, a lot of time is won or lost based on movement at the start. Guys who rock back or gather themselves lose a lot of time opposed to the guys who drive out smoothly with no wasted motion. I could see Gatlin losing a tenth or two with a rocking start coupled with a vertical arm positioning at the start but I guess we will never know. Disguise and deception is key!
I guess RB Chauncey Washington is faster then gatlin he reportedly ran in the 4.35 range for the 40.
None of this surprises me really…as already mentioned when you stop training on the track like a world class athlete the skills diminish. In addition to this if you check his Myspace page you’ll see he’s turned into a bit of a party boy. The pics could be misleading i.e they could have been taken ages ago or could have been taken at 7pm as he was just leaving the party…
I miss understood your first post.
Interesting though, how there’s probably 15-20 guys who didn’t do “world class training” the past couple months and ran faster than he did. As Charlie is suggesting, he probably hasn’t done a lot. To lose 6 tenths of a second and blame it on “football training” is a bit ridiculous. You would think Gatlin would have found and knew if he was training with somebody decent.
Don’t you think Gatlin knows what makes him faster and he wouldn’t partake in training that wouldn’t?
There were also several videos that appeared on youtube last year showing him partying with some friends. They were posted by

Thanks for posting a link to that gay dude. I really didnt want to see that!
As for gatlin, He needs to go 4.20 or better for a shot in the nfl or be strong as shit with outrageous hands. I doubt he is any of that. He played no college ball, did he play in highschool? No tape or anything. He is lucky to get a tryout. He would be better off going to play arena ball to prove he can play. I wonder who put it in his head that he could just jump up and make an nfl team with only highschool football experience?
