Comments: I’m really pissed that I didnt get 240 for 3 but I’ve only been doing max effort bench press for a couple weeks and I can max at around 270 or so and i’m gunna get 300 by next year, i was a little nervous because I was lifting without a spotter at home because at the time I went, the place I lift at is packed with people on like 3 benches. The incline dumbell bench went really well and the dumbell barbell shouldar press was too easy so I moved up the weight and it still wasnt that difficult but I really like the excercise. My shouldars were shot by the close grip so it was pretty hard but I got through it. I just did some ab excercises to keep the definition and definitley need to overall strengthen my core this summer. I need to keep eating cause im losing a couple pounds, mayube its my gf whos been taking up a ton of my time and i need to get back on my right eating schedule.

Comments: This workout went pretty well. I decided to change it up since I was practicing for the combines a lot on the flat bench, so I did repitition lift of the close grip bench press and i killed it. My hands were really close together and I had a couple left in me even after those 15 reps, it felt really good and was a great workout. The bent over dumbell row was pretty good but I hurt my back a little on it, but it may have just been sore. I did this all at home because I’ve been busy getting tapes and packets to send out to recruiters, 15 D1AA, 5 D2 and 10 D3’s just to keep all my options open. All the D3 schools are really good to amazing schools.

I should be able to power clean 235 by football season and I just have to get my mind in the right place. I was distracted today and i only got 3 hours of sleep and just didnt have that much energy. The hang cleans were not that good and my form sucked. The box squatts were decent and the leg curls. Glute ham raises were average and shurgs are boring… good is the greatest enemy of great!! If i wanna be the best… i gotta work the hardest and average is unacceptable. I’m lifting upper body today and working so fuccking hard

Comments: This workout was pretty good and was better than yesterdays crap. The max effort lift was pretty well and I’ll return to flat bench on that next workout, just making sure to get every part of my body strong. I have been at sumwat of a flat bench dumbell plateu and I was pretty pleased to get the 90’s up although I could do more if I definitley hadnt done the max incline before. I could’ve done better on the incline if i hadnt done a weight so close to the max effort movement, as the 175 fatigue set in on the 185 max effort. I was really happy with the barbell shouldar press or the military press, I like it much better than dumbells and I’m really good at it and it works a lot of my upper body. I’m pushing great weight around on that. I messed up on the EZ bar up right row and for sum reason i thought it was 25 today and i wanted to do sets of 105 for 8, but the 95 seemed really light and it was easy but sumwat of a workout. I finished with a solid performance on the delt machine which is one of my better excercises. The abdominal circuit was pretty tough and was a good workout for my core which is feeling real strong now.

Comments: I love pylos, i think im going to do them 3 times a week during the summer along with skill training for school and position specific training. I will only do 2 lower body days and 2-3 upper body days. These felt soo good and it was a good workout and I tried to push myself, it was really rainy out and cool so it was good. It will def help with my speed training and will definitley go straight to my performance on the field. Along with my weight training, i should report to camp at a lean 230 running in the 4.7 range and benching 300 and squatting hopefully 400. Just gotta work to get a 235 clean! I’m working really hard and I feel like its gunna all pay off in a great senior year. The general warmup phase was good and got me really stretched and was even a workout in itself. I did sum frequency training to work on my strides, so i could get faster strides which would make me faster and just quickness in general. I like jumping rope and should be a key training method for the summer. The rest of the frequency training was done with good intensity and was a good workout. Another D2 visited my school for tape, i think i’ve had total 5 D1AA schools come and 3 D2’s come to my school. I’m not sure on that… tommorow we have a general football meeting after school and after the meeting i will get a helmet and shouldar pads for the camps that I’m going to in the summer. Hopefully coach has the tapes for me that he completed and once i make copies, i plan on sending out the tapes along with a general recruiting packet to about 15 D1AA’s 5 D2’s and 10 D3 schools that have showed signifigant intrest or that I’m really intrested in.

Comments: This was a pretty good overall upper body repitition day. I feel great from the pylo’s yesterday and feel really loose and got a good stretch and was a good workout. I didn’t have a spotter but I havent done more than 3 reps with 225 and have most of the off season building up from around 200, so it’s more than i’ve done in a while and i anticipate the number of reps will go up fast. I’ve been good with heavy weight with real low weight and lower weight with higher reps, i need to work on heavy weight with moderate reps. I was extremeley happy with the incline dumbell press and i was just really feeling the excercise today and was a good one for me. The one arm dumbell row, i feel like my form is great and pulling good weight. The lat pulldown is really getting their and this wasnt even hard today, gotta keep adding that weight and will do pullups next upper body day. The tricep extensions are really good, the weight is extradionary for me and i have really strong triceps, but i just gotta make sure my form is respectable. I was going to use this ab machine that really works well but someone was on it forever and then someone else went on so i just did sum weighted ab crunches on the incline bench, could be better and gotta do better ab routines/excercises.

Comments: After my workout i played 2 hours of tennis with my friends and it was actually a good workout and was fun. I played my friend thats the best of like the 12 that play and he beat me 7-5 and then 6-4 so it was really close and I was actually up a couple time. It’s finals week so its really stressfull right now and I got 4 more letters in the mail today, thats about the average on a day to day basis. It’s just a lot on my plate but I left school early becasue I didnt have any more work to do and lifted. My squatts were really good today and didnt even seem that hard so thats some faith right their. They will be a big excercise this summer. I always feel like my squatt could be better. I stepped the volume up on squatts and my body responded really nicely. I then did laying leg curls which are always good and glute ham pushes which were really tough and im nearly doing the whole machine. I’m really good at glute ham raises which definitley translates to my speed on the field. Comments: First summer workout!! Finally get to focus even more and this monring I took my last final and worked out after that. So excited to get out of school. Need to catch up on sum recruiting forms and will do that over the next couple days and I’ve been doing a lot of research on diet and nutrition, went shopping today and got sum good foods that will help me put on sum lean mass and im just eating like i do everything, big!!! I left a couple reps in on the first incline bench and think i could get 10, i think thats pretty good as that calculates to around a 220 incline bench max which is solid because I havent been doing much barbell work on it. The shouldar presses are always good but werre tough at the end. The upright row and lateral raises were tougher than I thought and I’ve done more but it was a good workout. The tricep pushdown went well and i never do it, but my tricpes are strong so i was able to move real good weight. The lat pulldown is increasing so fast and it’s getting easier to do every workout and I’m happy with my progress. The ab crunches on this machine was pretty good. My first camp is BC football camp which is a week from today and I’m getting pumped up, working so hard for a monster summer and senior year. Stay focused, stay hungry!

Comments: This was a pretty good leg workout. I was dissapointed with the power cleans and I have no idea why i couldnt get 175 for 3 and I really need to work on these and get up to 225 by the season but if i focus, i can see how these will sky rocket. I was really happy with the box squatts, i tried to go for box squatts of 295, but i just didnt have anymore in me but i was happy with where i ended. The seated leg curls were pretty tough and by the time I got to the one legged squatts i was really tired but they were such a good workout for my whole legs… my form was really good on this. The wrist roller was good and works my forearms really well. First camp is next Monday and I’m gunna keep working out and eating a shitload to be in the best shape possible and tear it up.

Comments: Yesterdays workout went pretty well. My shouldars were still pretty sore from last upper body sessions so I think i could do better on the incline bench. I did very well at the shouldar press and my shouldar are getting really strong and the barbell work is really good for them. The lateral raises were pretty difficult and i’m limiting the use of my back and strictly working the shouldars. My lower back was hurting a little so i did some cable work on the dual pulley row which was still a good workout but no as effective as free weights. I never do biceps so decided to do a little today because I didnt wanna hurt my back further cause I have the BC Camp in a few days. Same reason I did the tricep excercise of press, not because it’s great but it was a good workout and just wanted to get out without injury. Time to eat mad crazy to get ready and maybe do sum pylos today but i will be eating like a madman.
On a side note, chilled with footballstar at the state high school all star game and theirs sum pretty good players. Countless guys going D1A and D1AA and the compeitition was really good. Some really good motivation as it’s definitley a goal to play in it next year.
Stepped it up big at BC and got to know some coaches… had some downs but a lot more ups and im happy. I ran the 6th fastest 40 yard dash time out of 250 offensive and defensive linemen which i was happy with. The number sucked and I wasnt happy at all but I had the same time as the MVP of an All American Combine of a DE that weighed about 10 pounds more than me. Of the 5 kids who had faster 40’s then me of linemen, only 1 weighed more than me at 220. I performed well throught the camp and talked extensively with the Northeastern coach and some others that were really intrested. My team also won the contest that we had and I did really well in that too. Great experience but im really sore, tired, and hurting now.
Good stuff… Glad to see that you’re getting quite a bit of interest. Any school in particular that is showing moreso than others?

Comments: Glad to get back in the weight room. The close grip bench press was pretty good and it’s a pr and more reps than I’ve done with 185 before. Not sure, may have had another rep in me. At BC, they talked about the paused benches over speed benches so i gave them a try and I like them. I did pretty well on them too. Need to do more on the bent over barbell row. The isolated lateral raises were good and i did them one arm at a time and i could do more weight and gave my shouldars an ok workout. Still got a lot of work to put in and good time before the season. Just the beginning of a monster senior year… A Division 2 Camp on Wedsday that’s really intrested and wouldnt mind picking up my first scholarship offer officially.

Comments: Took it easy today which I hate doing in the gym but i have a camp tommorow for a D2 school and i gotta get that official offer and do it big. Some notes though… time to move up on the RE bench to reps of 215 cause 205 just isnt challanging enough. Still need to work on the flat bench though. The pause benches and the rack lockouts were good excercises to do but both were real tough. The pauses were definitley harder after the flat bench but I got through. Wide grip pullups are pretty hard but i need to get back to regular pullups. I have a lot of camps, including this one tommorow… then a prospect camp called Blue Chip over the weekend and another one after the day that i come back. THen i have Northeastern where i definitley gotta do it real big. A lot of football to be played but im making a promise to myself, everyday im going to do at least 1 thing outside of these camps and clincs to get better. And if im not in a camp or whatever, I will do at least 2 things to get better everyday. Their is so much time left to the season, over a month and a half and I can become so much better. I also swear to keep my diet and check, eating decentley clean and a ton everyday. This is not considered 1 of the things to get me better. Thats my promise and I will do it everyday from now on.
Yesterday’s DII Camp: Went to camp yesterday at a D2 school for 1 day hoping to impress. And i did just that. I did really well in the agility drills in the begginning of the camp that were first. Their was no testing but these were done without helmets and shouldar pads and only a few skill guys were in better shape than I and i was really mobile. It was clear from the very beginning that I was one of the top kids at the start. Then we strapped on the pads and it was offensive line first which I wasnt too thrilled about. All my stance and steps on blocks were great from BC. I did alright on driving kids back on bags but need to work on duck walking and my legs were coming together. Then one on ones where u simply drove the other person back, I was aroundf the average weight for linemen but some were 270 and 280 pounds. No one was that huge and i was one of the tallest linemen of about 30 high school seniors. I then went undefeated in the one on ones which really got my confidence up. I beat two of their top offensive line recruits and another DE easily that was supposed to be pretty good. The coaches took notice and one of the OL from Bryant was high fiving me and telling me thats how u pop 'em. Had a big lunch, got sum recruiting materials and a talk from the coahces. Then on defensive i was just popping kids and this was my forte, i was really quick off the ball and superior in strength at least on the football feild and speed. The head coach came over to me and told me that I was having a really good day and I think a lot of the stuff at BC helped out. Then in a hitting drill i had great form and the coaches all were getting pumped when i hit the biggest kid at the camp. All my training was starting to pay off , then we did a angle of pursuit drill where i did a great job of containing the guy running down and stayed in the middle, my side to side speed is really good and when the outisde guys got beat, my years of pop warner football payed off with good pursuit and near speed of all the running backs. I had a really good day and the head coach after came over to me and said i did really good and their was no question I could compete for his team that is predicted to make the DII playoffs and they’d be lucky if they could get me from a bigger school. He said i was even better than he expected and went beyond any expectations. I didnt attend the 2nd day after the nice performance plus I have a camp tommorow until Sunday, mainly a recruiting one with a lot of D1AA schools. The head coach said he’d talk to me more at camp about possibilities at the school.

Day One (Friday): First thing that we did when we got their was test. Their were about 40 colleges represented their and i was definitley happy with my performance. First test for me was the shuttle where i got a 4.62 and the judge said i didnt even fully run through the line so that it could be even better, this was one of the best times on a slippery turf for my group and I was definitley happy with this. Then we went over to vertical jump and we only got 1 jump and i go 27 inches which i wasnt really happy with. We only got one jump which really pissed me off and thought I could have done better, it was towards the top of the group but I would’ve wanted more. The bench reps was tough because I was so sore from the contact camp and my lats and traps were just gone so stabilizing the bar was near impossible. I only squeezed out 13 reps because i was really sore and I didnt no if i could get my normal 16, im decentley happy with this considering the circumstances and won’t make or break my stock. My final test was the 40 yard dash which i got a 4.95 the first time and i was like wut the fuck is that, so i perfected my form and ran a 4.71 the second time which i was absolutley pumped with. Went back, had dinner and rested up for the first practice. All DL (DE’s and DT’s together) was agility drills and my mobility was really good, the Wagner coach (D1AA) started to take a lot of intrest in me and saw my athletic ability and their was miminal hitting and i did really good with great technique in these familiar drills from BC and my athletic ability. This was college night and I went around talking to all the D1 AA coaches and most of them i was in contact with probably, 7 or so but introduced myself to about 4 more D1AA coaches like Georgetown which i didnt no much about and they said they’d keep in contact so i need real good Senior film to impress all these ppl so they gotta offer me.
Day 2 (Saturday): Had a real early practice and did a lot of run blocking defeating which was pretty tough for me being a smaller guy but I did pretty well. In the 1 on 1’s after the agility drills that i owned at and technique, we did a drill where the offense tried to drive you back and you had to take him on and defeat him. I went against a kid who was 6’5 260 who was getting recruited by D1AA schools and was real athletic and i did pretty well. He probably got the best of me 2 and i won 2, it was a dog fight every time and their was respect between us. In the second practice we did pass rushing whcih went real well for me and I defeated a kid who was highly rated and was on rivals and i was pumped. My technique from BC payed off in the positional drills and i only really lost a couple one on ones out of about 10 and one i spinned way to slow and learned my lesson and got knocked down. At the college showcase for linemen i only went 3 times, once as one of the top 5 linemen out of about 40 kids and i did well but once again when i tried to spin outside he caught me but i spun back inside and defeated the kid.
Day 3 (Sunday)- The linemen competition where i was in a group of 32 and I did pretty well, won the first round and got down to the last 16 but i was pissed when i lost but the kid went on to the final 4 and was questionaly a D1A linemen. In the fastest man competition for the 210-240 weight class, i won the whole damn thing which i was pumped about. I beat a Running back , and a couple LB’s who had the best 40 time and i was the lowest 40 of all of us. I got my award and came back homeeee.
Time to get back to working out, got a recruiting camp locally with a good # of D1A and D1AA schools here locally from 4-8:30 for the next 4 days but i still plan on working out and keep getting stronger, bigger, and faster. Time to impress all these coaches and show them that no matter how good other kids did at camp or myself, that they need me on their football team and have to offer me a scholarship because they cant afford going against me… none of these boys can get it done on the field like me!

Comments: Yesterday had another local recruiting camp where their were some local D1, D2, and D3 schools mainly. The camp is all week from 4-8:30 but i didnt go tonight because the shitty weather and they planned on having 450 kids in the high school gym of this town where we wouldnt get any shit done. Most of the schools i’m already in contact with and have evaluated me and are already recruiting me hard. So i didnt go tonight, so i worked out and it’s been a little while and I was really sore still from yesterday. Only did 2 sets of bench because my arms and shouldars are pretty sore from all these camps that i’ve been 2 but still got in a pretty good pair of sets on the bench. The pullups felt great and i definitley could have done more. I felt the fatigure and soreness on the incline dumbell press. Havent done front raises really before but gotta use more weight but was a good workout. I was near dead when i got to rows so i did sum dumbell rows with some good weight. The ab excercise was a really good workout and used a lot of weight and definitley feel the ab strength better.
On a side note, Stony Brook is really recruiting me hard with emails and a call. They are really intrested after the camp i just got back from and i checked out their site and they have a good program, won their confrence for D1AA, a 8,200 people stadium, and brand new facilities like a stadium and locker rooms. They also have a new head coach who had like 5 undefeated seasons at his previous school, Trinity. I also got a fone call from an intrested prep school who is really good and send multipule kids to get scholarships a year and he wanted me to transfer, repeat my Junior year and said he could definitley get me into a D1A. I wasnt really intrested even though be promised little cost because I’m loyal to my hs team thats soo good and i have unfinished business here where we should’ve won our 5th straight state title. I’ll most likely go back to the camp tommorow even though i’m hardly impressed with the kids and the schools.
