Rupert, I’m not sure if you are aware of this but…John Davies actually coached Jesse Owens to four golds in 36 and then to top it all off, flipped off Hitler in the Chancellor’s box while rocking back and forth on his(JD’s) stability-developing wobble/surf board. What a renegade!!!

Owens ran 10.3 in the 1936 OG final. Ralph Metcalfe finished second in 10.4, and Martinus Osendarp ran 10.5 to claim the Bronze.

Apparently the race was wind-aided. The reading given for the final was +2.7m/s following. Until nw, I was unaware they could read the windspeed until the 50s/60s. Anyone know the history of it? Thanks in advance
