International baller

look at the rest of the posts… there was lots of topic shift… like half the posts are about football.

besides the thread title is “international baller”…

but to answer the question: strictly as a 100 runner you’d be hard pressed to find a d2 school who would be throwing money at you sight unseen as a 10.6-11.0 guy. there are plenty of american sprinters with crap grades to fill the d2 and juco ranks.

yeh i understand, i was trying to through many examples of diff sports. I called it baller because in the hood “baller” means your a stud in your sport of choice.

i thought originally you were just talking about a 10.6-11.0 100 runner.

then you started talking about football, what am i supposed to do but think the guy plays rugby or is big and might play d2 football, that widens his options considerably.

well he is a AND1 dunker.

I’m guessing we’re going to find out. Maybe I can go get my masters under scholarship if this is true :). Probably easier to get a basketball scholarship.

Yeh I hear the usa have 1 billion towards track scholarships.

Davan ran 10.7x. I wonder how much he gets for track.

Davan has been training for a long time, this kid has only been during starts and tempo and weigh 225.

right on bro man.

10.6-11.0 is a big range. A range that generally gets no full rides, if even a half ride (or anything at all).

A guy local to myself and Mort in high school ran 10.6x low and got no full ride offers. I don’t see a guy that has a PR of 11.3 getting money, especially internationally when it costs them a lot more money. He barely has a shot if he runs 10.6 (which in itself will be a huge reach to get to), let alone slower than that.

Him running it at 225 or 125 is of minimal consequence as they don’t give you full rides (or half rides) in track based on “potential”… You have to have success besides that.

Thank you, its always better to hear it from someone else.

Yea, like rb34
