10 hill repeats nonstop… WAY TO EASY. THis workout was a disgrace to hill workouts! And I’m lazy for not doing more than was asked of me.
6x100m striders on the grass barefoot… go me!
I did some triple jump messing around too, almost F-ed my knee up trying to do some pole climbing.

This was a kind of fun workout. I had much more than full recovery between my repeats, but I tried to keep the times consistent and I did.

Gr… I ran frosh again this weekend. But I guess I made up with it by running back to back 2:08’s and winning all three events I was entered into.

That meet was the bomb but first, results.
DMR 11:24 3:26 (me) 55.6 (chris W.) 2:12 (my bro) 4:50 (ivan)
We won, baby. I got us in first place and we stayed there the whole time. The second place team changed at every handoff, but eventually no one could keep pace.
800 1st 2:02.69(me)
2nd 2:03.75 (SLV guy)
The first lap was loads of fun, boxing, elbows, and a generally rowdy, but slow, time (1:02). The second lap I got serious. I moved up from third place to second on the back straight. I cruised behind the SLV runner in the turn and exploded on the straight. I must have ran a 12.7-13.4 100m because I was flying by the guy like nothing. (It hurt like a mofo, and I could barely breath, though)
4x400 1st 3:38 (st francis)
2nd 3:40 (us)
I have to give props to my bud reggie. He ran a 53.6 split on his 400. I was impressed. Chris w, was beat and for some reason he didn’t start us very well. The second leg by reg was heroic. 3rd almost 4th up to a sure second place. My leg wasn’t spectacular but it was deffinately faster than the ST.Francis guy, who had at least a 4 second lead.

I have decided to go to possibly my last amtgard. It was a blast, but I don’t think I’m going back. Running is way more fulfilling.

I see a problem with your training program - when it rains you do not workout, why not run in the rain, what are you going to do when their is a track meet and it is raining. Will you stay home. Come on guy step it up and run in the rain.
Up here in Canada we would love to have that kind of weather all year long.
Tks for the input. I love the rain, but my winter training camp is at a moderate altitude 3000 feet and the uhh rain gets… kind of cold. Real cold. Like frostbite on the genitals cold. Basketball, football and soccer players all play with their balls… I like to run with mine thankyouverymuch.
Dress appropriately and it should not be a problem. Where gloves, cover your skin up.
Be realistic time away from the track doing nothing is worse than running in the cold. Yeah up here in Canada we only training fior 6 minths of the year becasue it is too cold the rest of the year. Wow amazing how we can jam all that training in and stull run relatively well

Today was an easy day because it was pre-dual meet, but I found out after the workout that I wasn’t even running tommorow so in actuality I had time to do a regular workout, shucks. I had to leave before I did it so boo hoo hoo.

I was in charge of the long jump. It was fun, but very hectic. I threatened to kill a couple spectators that crossed the runway a few to many times. The rain didn’t start until about the 400m, but it kind of snuck up and gradually got stronger and stronger. By the time 800 runners were on the track, it was at monsoon status. The 2-milers were stomping through the lagoons in lane 1, my brother did okay, but he was holding a lot back and could have ran much faster in both the 8 and the mile.

Distance Medly Relay: I ran the third leg, or the 800. I was simply cruisin’ we had a poor 400 and I was no where near contention with the leaders. So I ran a poor leg. I ran a 2:02 800 but I know that 2:00 isn’t a barrier; it is just another number.

That was an awesome 4x8, or it would have been had Danny/Mikey not dropped the baton… (grr…) Keli was boxed in his first lap and he had to really work his second lap to bring us in at a decent time (2:02, 9-11 place).
In order to understand the signifance of my leg you have to know what coach Ibarra said to me earlier.
“Mike if you want to break 2:00 you have to be aggressive. Maybe, go out in a 57 first lap and come back with a 62 second second lap.”
So the first lap I ran completely in the second lane I was passing so many people. I got us all the way from 9-11th place to about third place. From the very begining my mindset was aggressive the first thing I did was push a dude out of my way (he was waiting for his baton), the second thing I did was shove a finished runner out of my way. Then I did nothing but pass people. Danny ran an awesome third leg. He PR’ed by about 4 seconds and busted outa 2:04 and a subsequent close-to-first second place. Unfortunely, Danny was so tired from his killer leg that he released the baton too early and Mikey dropped it. We went from 2nd to 7th place in 4 measly seconds. All mike would have had to run to get us first is a 2:06-7, but the baton bit rubber and we got 7th over all. One place away from medaling.
