TEHRAN, June 30 AFP - An Iranian footballer reportedlykilled a player from the opposing side who had justscored a goal by punching him in the head.
The Yas-e No daily newspaper today said an amateursoccer match in Ahwaz in the south-west last Fridayturned ugly when a defender punched an opposing forwardwho had just scored.
The victim was carried from the pitch and when hisdeath was announced over loudspeakers the attacker wasdetained by the opposing team and handed over to thepolice.
