If tempo training should not be done in season. What kinds of specific training should be done? For example, if speed is the emphasis what kinds of things should be done for that. If you dont do tempo training in season then how to you maintain fitness. Or is that not a worry because the games and practice will do that.
the only thing our soccer team does outside of practice is lift weights 2x/week during the season. They have quite a volume of running (not controlled by me) with practices and games. Unless you saw no playing time, I see very little reason for any additional running at this timeā¦

When I was helping out with a semi pro team here is Utah. We did fitness during the season. The coach devoted one day per week for fitness. Just want to know what kinds of things some of the other people do.
