HPTC athletes make an impact in Moscow and Melbourne

At the heart of the IAAF’s Development programme stands the global network of seven High Performance Training Centres (HPTCs).
Managed and supervised under IAAF control, the HPTCs - Eldoret (KEN), Asia (MAS), Dakar (SEN), Kingston (JAM), Mauritius (MRI), Oceania (NZL), South America (BRA) - provide centres of excellence for the training and development of international class athletes and coaches.
Currently there are some 38 athletes training at the centres, under varying types of scholarships, and of these talents many were active in the last month at the two major track competitions, the 11th IAAF World Indoor Championships, Moscow, Russia, and the 18th Commonwealth Games, Melbourne, Australia.
