How good are GNC Brand name products?

I use liquid L-carnitine by twinlab and I have found it far superior to any other form of carnitine out there. Even anti anging version acetyl supposedly the strongest. Although I have not tried that version in a liquid form. So yes twinlab is ok. I also use their mega dose of arginine/orthanine. Goodstuff.

Timmy, I’m going to try calling GNC now and asking if they will special order me stuff.

Alright tell me how it works out.

Timmy GNC doesn’t order products for you. But there is a vitamin world near by, they put out a brand name version of ZMA which is the same forumula as snacs. http://www.vitaminworld.com/scripts2/htmlos.exe/0170.5.7320047303600020728?

Does anyone know if this stuff is tested?

Twin lab is sent the papers for chapter 11…

Not a twinlab fan I take it. Well neither was I untill I tried their liquid carnitine. What the heck did they do to this stuff. Looks like usana and biotest are the only way to go. Just kidding.

If you are 19, good luck and god speed. I only chimed in on the chance that you were 17 or younger, and not to you but to anyone that advises under 18’s to take anything outside of a multi-V.

Do I believe in other supplements than Vit’s and min’s. Of course.
But its the rare case that an under 17 cant get what they need on the dinner plate, and more rare that (legal) performance enhancement is so important/worth the cost $$$/ever worth crossing legal guardians-parents. Let alone the idea of strangers, on-line, dispensing advice to the same. I coach college and post college athletes and was recently made aware of an athlete that had a “no medical attention” order on file at our school. I did not know of this til after the individual graduated.
Would I have rushed them to the hospital if I thought it needed, yes.
But you never know with people, not to mention the law-suit happy society we live in.

Good luck in training for your goals, and my advice to the board in future such threads will be the same.

Coach

Step 1. Go to the bank with money
Step 2 open a checking account
Step 3 get a secured credit card.
Step 4 pay it off
Step 5 you are now independant

I think coachmd makes very good point though. As a highschool or college coach we have to be very carefull the advice we give our athletes. Well down MD.

I take GNCs vanilla soy protein powder and its the worst thing i’ve ever put down my throat. i think it would probably taste better when it comes out than when it goes in  it was cheap though and ive heard the potential benefits from soy for females is good.

Tim, what effect did the Twinlab liquid l-carnitine have on your body that made you think it was so good?

T2, is your father a physician or nutritionist to make the comment he made about the effects of Zinc & Alzeihmers? Ask him if he can provide his sources so you can verify them. (Chances are, he’s just playing dad)

He is a doctor.

Sorry Vito,
I gotta laugh at this one man …
T2 - subtle reply …
