Helsinki El Guerrouj's last run for Morocco

RABAT, Oct 23 (AFP) - Double Olympic champion Hicham El Guerrouj said on Saturday that he will bring the curtain down on his international career with the Moroccan team in 2005, the Map news agency reported.
The 30-year-old El Guerrouj, who won the 1500m and 5000m gold medals at the Athens Games in August, remained vague on the actual date of his retirement as he picked up an award in the Spanish city of Oviedo.
He said that the world athletics championships in Helsinki from August 5-14, 2005, will be his last official appearance with the national team''. The four-time world 1500m champion said that 2006 will be the farewell year’’ but later suggested that 2005 would in fact be his last season.
