heat exhaustion

why does the sun always seems to drain me physically?

It’s as you said, HEAT EXhAUSTION.

You’re not alone son.

The sun! Where…?

…Norway:help:

I’ve always found the heat helped me. The hotter it is the easier it is to warm-up.

do you drink enough water on the hot days? train with your shirt off, maybe you wont sweat as much, and you can impress anybody watching!

What sort of heat. Dry, humid or wind.

I find dry heat is great - body doesn’t ache.

Humidity and wind I struggle in.

what is the shade of your skin? i know that teamates of mine that are fair skinned hate the sun.

Since when did Hobart get hot?

Thanks Bridge

It does get hot ocassionally . Generally a different heat then you northerners get

The difference is you get consistent weather, we don’t.

Last couple of days mid 20’s today would be 20 but humid and I’m sweating like a marathon runner.

We are actually after rain have received 10% of our average rain fall (and we are the 2nd dryest capital in Australia)

Good luck, you really should come down and stay in a beautiful part of the world

I recently did a VO2 Max test which was part of a heat study. …after that test, it was time for the real trial:

Basically I was put in a chamber that was pumped up to 40 degrees (at 50% humidity if I’m not mistaken). I was then to walk on a treadmill for 2 hours while wearing a ‘suit’ and gas mask. I had no exposed skin whatsoever.

(forgive me for being brief but I think it was somewhat classified as it’s part of a military study)

…anyway, I had an IV in, and a thermometre up my ass (15cm …man, that was weird … stop laughing). The purpose was to measure what types of proteins your body breaks down under these conditions (it’s a bit more in depth, but I’ll leave it at that).

…anyway, 25 minutes in I started to feel panic, and hyperventilate …then I had to quit because it was time to puke.

They showed me some signs of heat exhaustion and I had like 5 of them … in such a short time span it was nuts. I lasted 35 minutes or so.

Dunno why I mentioned this, but just thought I would…

Looking forward to visiting Tassie - but it will have to be in summer (don’t like cold unless I’m skiing). Just spent a few days in Melbourne the other week - the weather there is inconsistent enough.

Bridge the most consistent weather patterns are generally late Feb to end March.

Winter is crap. Then weather is in consistent.

ax from what i know about you, there is no freakin way you walked anywhere for 2 hours!!! i call bullcrap:sing:
