Greek Team in Moscow

A four-member Greek team in Moscow

Just four Greek athletes, the smallest ever team in the world indoor championships, are going to Moscow tomorrow. The long jump silver medallist of the european indoor champs, Stella Pilatou  and the hurlder Alexandra Komnou (8.05 this season in the 60mh) are the girls departing, while Louis Tsatoumas (8.15m in the long jump) and the new triple jump national record holder ) Dimitrios Tsiamis (17.12m), are the only men participants. Georgios Theodoridis, although he had set the standard, withdrew due to a waist injury.

Since 1987, Greece has won a total of 7 medals, three gold (Harris Papadias, Katerina Koffa and Katerina Thanou), two silver with Lambos Papakostas and two bronze with Chrisopigi Devetzi and Georgios Theodoridis.
