Great Britain Women's track team

This is the GB women’s track team for 2003…

WOMEN:
100m None
200m Abi Oyepitan (Shaftesbury Barnet), Joice Maduaka (Essex Ladies);
400m Lee McConnell (Shaftesbury Barnet);
1,500m Kelly Holmes (Ealing, Southall), Hayley Tullett (Swansea); Marathon Jo Lodge (WSE&H);
100m hurdles Rachel King (Belgrave);
400m hurdles Natasha Danvers (Shaftesbury Barnet);
4x400m Danvers, Helen Karagounis (Birchfield), McConnell, Jenny Meadows (Wigan), Katharine Merry (Birchfield), Catherine Murphy (Shaftesbury Barnet).

No 100m nor 4x100m athletes.

In fact there only appears to be 26 female competitors for Worlds 100m. Straight quarter finals!

Also, from what I can make out, Thannou is also yet to run an A qualifier.

Austria x 1
Bahamas x 2
Belgium x 1
Belerus x 1
Bulgaria x 1
Cayman Islands x 1
France x 1
Germany x 1
Jamaica x 3
Nigeria x 3
South Africa x 1
Russia x 1
Slovenia x 1
Trinidad x 1
Ukraine x 2
USA x 3
St Vincent x 1

That’s
9 Caribbeans
3 Americans
4 Africans
4 Euro
6 Eastern Block

The A qualifier seems to get cut by 0.1 each year. Is 11.27 too tough?

I managed to track down a brief history of Olympic qualifying standards.

For reference 2004 is:

Women:
100m 11.27
200m 22.97

Men:
100m 10.21
200m 20.59
