Just came back from my annual journey to the Penn relays (15th year!). I saw some impressive performances from Asafa Powell (10.10 on a track that goes slightly uphill), Justin Gatlin, and Tyler Christopher. One thing that really caught my eye, (as I am keeping a close eye on the Canadians) was the running of Nathan Taylor. I don’t know how fast he ran, but he looked like he belonged with some of the better sprinters of the world. It is quite a change from seeing him compete as an university student a few years ago. Just wanted to give props to Number Two for an outstanding job of coaching!
Thanks for the compliment Krusty (I’m assuming that’s not your real name!). I’m just happy to be working with someone as talented and diligent as Nathan. Once we get him below his PB (10.38 as a junior), I’ll be happy. Then the real work starts.
Did you have any specific comments on the 4x100m heat he was in? The TV coverage by NBC was shortened by Ice Hockey - of all things. Any feedback would be appreciated. And, if you know anyone who has video coverage of the race, that would be great.
