Glutamine, powdered or capsules?

Is there any difference in absorption, or are both forms equally effective?

powder absorbs faster

powder should be alot cheaper as well.

QUICKAZHELL is right powder absorbs in about twenty minutes, the capsules take roughly fourty five minutes.

Anyone else feel a tingle when the glutamine kicks in?

ok one more thing i forgot to mention…

Suffiecent dosage of Glutamine is anywhere from 10-20 grams.

Pills only come in 500 mg which means over 20 pills a day! thats rediculous. The powder usually comes in 4500-5000 mg per serving (teaspoon). So 4 teaspoons in divied does a day and you are getting what you need. I feel the pills are for older peole who do not really workout that want to supplement glutamine in there diet for other reasons.

thoughts?

QUIK, i`ve been approached by alot of older people regarding glutamine, they usually take 10g to 15g serving before they go to bed, the release of GH caused by glutamine helps them (as they have given feedback after 1, 2 & 6 months)

Would you recommend an “unloading” of glutamine supplementation? As right now i take everyday.

I believe as little as 2g is enough to raise GH levels. (when taken before sleep)

my thoughts are, in general glutamine is over rated. the effective dose is high and it isnt cheap, so unless there is definate need for glut, there may be better places to invest his/her supplement dollars.

nighmare,
good point.
since you mentioned the effective does having to be very high i cannot understand amino acid supplements that contain all the amino acids. It seems like there are such low doeses of each one. Are these mixed amino acid supplements a waste of money?

Does any one know whats the benefits from Glutamine to anti-inflame ?
