Gerard March's Manual

What rules sharing knowledge?

I’m sure the manual wasn’t free - you wouldn’t want someone stealing your products…

Book has been out of print for years and is not readily available for purchase. If Mach was concerned about making more money off it it would at least be on amazon.

There are places that still sell the manual - I saw it online several months… South Flordia boys - what’s going on at A&M with the band crew…

Please send me a copy thanks. gtheo1@yahoo.com

I understand how great the temptation is to reproduce information via this forum. Historically there were strong objections to private messaging as a means to support sharing copy written information.
I do not support stealing other people’s information.
Gerard was a friend, a coach and a mentor Charlie held in high regard.
Charlie had great respect for Gerard.
When Charlie had respect for others it influenced how he conducted himself.
Cheers,
Angela

Thank you…

While I understand your point of view, is there a link to purchase this info? If not I’ll gladly make a donation to the Mach if needed.

For your information, Mach’s Manuel is out of print, but it can be downloaded via the internet if you look hard enough, perhaps as Chris mentions, it should be placed on sale again via Amazon, pay for print or sites such as Alibris?

Doesn’t matter - I believe it’s in the forum rules…

Stop being a brown noser.

All. Try WorldCat or another library resource to request it at your local library. That’s what I did. I read/returned it. It was a great piece of training literature.

Dear Ms. Coon,

Please, kindly advise your thread participants that my father has the copyright for his Sprints and Hurdles Manual and because of that, it cannot be downloaded from any website.

Thank you very much.

Maria Mach

I did not make up copyright rules or intellectual property rules.
If we want to be online and run a successful place to share training information let us do so in a responsible way.
Charlie hated that sort of thing in a very big way.
I have written Gerard’s daughter and I will see what she comes back with.
I appreciate everyone’s cooperation on all matters to do with reproducing other’s work.

Sounds good to me…

Thanks for the update Angela.

Like I said before, will it be sold or they just want to sit on the information? Makes no sense to me

I had my eyes peeled for Gerard in Calgary at the Olympic trials, but didn’t see him. It’s terrific news that Angela has contacted his daughter. It would be great if Gerard was willing to share some of his wisdom.

I have Mr. March’s manual in PDF format. What blew me away was the simple instructions that he gave for setting up blocks, and what setup (out of 3 styles) you should use.

I’m 32 years old and have been under 4 coaches (one of them a 2000 US Olympic Coach) and I never once got a basic simple presentation for setting up blocks properly compared to what Mr. March has presented.

I am wondering what’s in Gerard’s Manual?
What are the differences from what he’s got in his Manual to the way I was coached also having in mind the same educational background.
Interesting…
