Damn. What a great loss. I wish I had had a chance to meet him.
I loved the story Charlie told about how people would challenge Gerard’s methods when he gave a lecture, and Gerard would reply, “You can’t say it doesn’t work, this is what I did.” They were talking theory, and he was talking history (i.e. results).
