Mission Statement
To follow the functional path to “Building the Complete Athlete” or if the athlete is
injured by “Rebuilding the Complete Athlete”
The Gambetta method is based on the following functional path
principles:

Dynamic Postural alignment and balance are the foundation for all training.
Train movements not muscles.
Train fundamental movement skills before sport specific skills.
Train core strength before extremity strength.
Train with body weight before external resistance.
Train joint integrity before joint mobility.
Train synergistic muscles before prime movers.
Train strength before strength endurance.
Train speed before speed enduranc[/LEFT]

Funny this was posted, he is also being toted as the “Grandfather of Functional Training”.

What is functional training? I need some.

training – a step by step competency
based progression to manage adaptation and
prevent injury.

What a coincidence! I just posted this over in “Things That Make Us Laugh”. Oh well, here it is again in case it gets lost in the shuffle.

Funny…I thought that was a Gambetta athlete?

From the U Canbetcha CV: ““In basketball he worked with the Canadian Men’s
and Women’s National teams and the Chicago Bulls.””

Anyone know the facts behind the Chicago Bulls broad claim? Did he do the strength and conditioning program for the entire team? or just tie their bootlaces for them. Is this guy just another bullshitter with a graduate diploma in self promotion, or is he tops in his field?

I know that Al Vermeil did hire him for some work with the team, but he did turn around and go to the Canadian National Basketball federation and tell them that he was the head strength coach for the Bulls (a coach that I know was there when he made the claim).

Not sure why people feel they need to lie about stuff like that. I certainly don’t go around telling everyone I was Marion Jones’ coach (even though it was in the papers around the world for about two days).

Yeh - Number Two - but Charlie was in the compromising position!

and he went to No2 even though there were many others who would gladly have put their hand up to take the gig

He worked as an assistant to Al Vermiel for a short time and left with some bad feelings on Al’s part after Gambetta undermined Al with the White Sox. I remember when he got a job presenting to BBall Canasa, he was listed as the head S and C coach for the Bulls. Al was enraged and called BB Can demanding a clarification but bureaucrats up here ducked him and never took any more of his calls!

It ain’t easy bein’ sleezy!

did anyone attend part 1 last weekend?

I expect to now see: head coach- Australian national athletics team on his resume’.

After all, he’s been there now and that should be sufficient enough to be able to claim that accomplishment.

Going along with his stint as former head s & c coach of the Chicago Bulls  , let’s see someone else match those credentials.

Yes, nothing like having the ability to gain credentials via osmosis.

Puts on his glasses. Hmmmm. yes. Osmosis. Exactly. It has become flaccid.

He has these two kind of in the right order though.

That’s quite good, Two.

I wonder if training works the same way? I’d better check with Vern. It’s known as The Gambetta osmotic functional path acquistion method.
