African countries snatch honours at ‘Gabriel Tiacoh’ athletics meet in Abidjan

Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire - Apart from France which won the women’s 100 metres race, African nations snatched all the other titles at stake at the 14th international athletics meet on Saturday in Abidjan, organized in honour of Gabriel Tiacoh, the only Ivorian ever to win an Olympic medal.

In the Ivorian national championships held at the meet, Gah Mirielle won the women’s 100 metres race by 13.02 seconds, while the women’s 200 metres title went to Gouenon Adeline in 26.37 seconds.
The men’s 400 meters championship went to Ehouman Landry in 50.47 seconds while Oumar Kone took the men’s 800 metres race in 1:58.32.
