Most, if not all of us have been touched by cancer. I have. My friend and fraternal brother Steve Sternberg lost his mother last year to pancreatic cancer.
Now you and I have something we can do about it. My chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity holds a philanthropy ever other year to raise money for The American Cancer Society called Rock-a-thon.
For 63 hours straight, a member of the house will rock in a rocking chair on a stage in downtown Columbia MO. This year, in honor of his mother, Steve will be rocking, which is the highest honor my house can bestow.
All proceeds from ROCK-A-THON 2005 go the mid-Missouri chapter of the American Cancer Society, and this year specifically for Pnacreatic Cancer Research. Rock-a-thon is the largest non-corporate donor to the ACS and the largest single fraternal philanthropy in the country. In 2003, we raised 33,000 dollars in 3 days.
