Triple Commonwealth champion Debbie Ferguson will not defend her titles in Melbourne in March.
The Bahamas athlete, who won gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in Manchester four years ago, is not fully fit after surgery on her back in 2005.
Ferguson said: "I’m not where I want to be and don’t feel I can win. There’s no point going if it doesn’t feel right.
“If I give up the Games, then maybe I will be in the best condition possible for next year’s World Championship.”
