What are some of your favorite tunes to listen to before any kind of competition?

Ænima, the album by Tool, is the album I listen to before every meet. It’s driving and powerful and more talented than most metal, in my opinion. Every member of Tool has at least a Bachelor’s in Music Theory, and it shows. Best drummer around today, hands down, the guitarist is moving and catchy, the singer was an opera singer before heavy metal…can’t go wrong, if ya ask me.
I used to listen to that Tool album before football games in high school. Great album. The Sevendust album is also great along with all Deftones.
eminem’s ‘til i collapse’ is one of the top on my long list
Right beore a meet i would mellow out with some Old skool al green. Then that morning it was the rocky theme.
The rocky theme is and always will be the best competition song ever!
Quick, I dig the deftones. White Pony is a sweet album. I especially enjoy the song w/ Maynard, “Passenger.”
I have been known to go to XC meets, position myself on the toughest hill, and play “eye of the tiger” on my guitar. The team loves it. Don’t know if that’s the rocky theme you’re lookin at, but a story nonetheless.
a mix of r&b to calm me down and tu pac to make me hyped
