scottyo, thank you!
She did admit in an on camera interview afterwards that she did feel particularly nervous prior to the race. Her start was not as good as in the rounds and yes she did look a bit ragged compared to what she normally does.
Now that I think about it, in the interview after the semi-final, she said “I didn’t even feel like I was trying my hardest” - or something to that effect.
She ran a better time as well.
Just relax dear…
PS:Taking nothing away from her though, absolutely dominated.
Does anyone who watched the mens final feel that Pickering in trying to catch Gardner extended his drive phase a bit too far which affected his performance. Not that he was going to catch JG but he might have made it closer between himself and Pognon than was neccessary. Or am I talking b*****ks, I didn’t tape the final so only watched it a couple of times.
Looks like his 10.55 is in for revision!
No kidding…
One more remark on a result of this Champs - illustrates why I hated to share lanes indoors (like in 400 or the relays…):
On the last turn Russia was in front of Germany, GBR third. It looked just like that would be the order they would cross the finish line and collect the medals accordingly.
But GER pushes RUS down, RUS stumbles and almost falls, so RUS drops back and they cross the line:
1.GER, 2.GBR, 3.RUS.
GER gets diqualified so the medals go to:
1.GBR, 2.RUS, 3.POL
Nice for GBR, but somehow the result does not seem right…
