Since I was basically masking the pain, minor as it is, still I decided against completing the entire hill session. All went relatively well but I might have to start removing hill sessions for flat speed work sooner than scheduled, as the cement hill is starting to wear on my shins/ ankles.
Warm up- 40 minutes (all on grass field)
Medball tosses while jogging- about 1200 meters
stretch
a/b skips; shuffles; high knees
stretch, worked on tight calves and Hip flexor
4x 60 meters strideouts- very easy
2x 10 meters drive outs

BCAA liquid

Hill session:
2x (5x40 meters)
1x (2x30 meters)

cool down walk and stretch
massage and off to the gym

Weights: I’m thinking about dumping Squats for Deadlifts, Explosive MedBall Throws/Plyos. For one, I don’t really like squating and secondly, I feel like the explosive throws and Plyos ( I haven’t added plyos yet) translate to starting/sprinting/accelerating better anyway. At least for me.

I didn’t feel like benching. Imagine that- a guy not wanting to bench press- You sissy!

masking the pain? Are you going to the Olympics in a couple weeks? Why aren’t you healthy? WHy can’t you take time off to heal?

Not really a PAIN… moreso an annoying ache… Ok Fine, it’s a pain. And you’re right, I have plenty of time to heal up and it’s not like it will take more than a few days off anyway. Lesson learned.
