Dream Team v Australia

ive been to many euro league games…i am european…i also have a bunch of friends who play in the euroleague…(i played ball before track)

It isnt more physical, because of the size of the players obviously, the NBA guys are bigger in every position…

but the way the NBA is refereed now, a player can not be physical anymore…if you touch a gaurd out front, its a foul etc etc…it isnt like that in europe.

im sure our guys can deal with it, esp when you have athletes like lebron 6’8 260.

absolutley!!!

If those guys get pushed around, they will be able purely “out athlete” anyone else…they are way more physically gifted that virtually all of the international players…

sharmer was saying that we’d have trouble with the physicality of european teams, which is pretty funny.

we’re bigger, faster, stronger, and all of our guys play in a physical macho league, the NBA, we won’t have any problems with the physicality of memhet okur, or his look alikes who couldn’t make the NBA, don’t worry.

what will mess us up is the irregular 3 point distance(it’s not a mid range jumpshot for the USA guys, but neither is it their normal 3 point distance), the huge lane, which makes physical offense post players useless as offensive threats, and our horrible free throw shooting.

Yes, but the Chinese intend to soften them up with a psychological campaign- including e-mailing the players to tell them their 22 inch “rims” got trashed on the way back from Will Castro’s Garage.

Do you find losing funny?

The last time I checked, the USA won a bronze medal in the last olympics. They also get a beating in the last world champions.

Remember 2002, when U.S. came 6th in the World Championships.

It’s this " bigger, stronger, faster" attitude that causing the US to continually fail at international basketball. Fact is most European teams are taller than the USA, and stronger inside on defense.

What happened to Bigger, stronger, faster"? When Ginobili was torching Team USA in 2002 and 2004.

The US starting line up is too small for international ball these days. Kobe isn’t 6.6, yes NBA players do BS about their height, he closer to 6,4. Dwight Howard is listed at 6’11 , which in real terms would be 6’10, the teams too small.

Deron Williams
Dwayne Wade
Kobe Bryant
Lebron James
Dwight Howard

The 96 " dream team" would annihilate the current roster, they had three legit 7 footers Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal, David Robinson.

Thank you. Those who continue to call these teams Dream Teams comparing them to 92 and 96 are dreaming

Like the question you didnt answer, whats your def of dream team?

All the best players from the USA that you need to make the best team possible that dominates the world. Zero Celtics and zero 7 footers doesn’t fulfill my dream. Oh well, at least it’s not college players right?

The team is made up of 12 of the best players in the WORLD. Also the era is different back then every one wanted to be apart of the team, now days some athletes could less, do you really think ray allen or any of the celtics would have played for the team after having a long nba season.

whos crack are you smoking, kb is over bit 6’6 and squat 400+chains.

i wouldn’t want any of the celtics besides ray allen anyway.

i don’t see kg or paul pierce thriving in international ball.

although paul pierce has the weirdest game i’ve ever seen in the nba as he looks overweight and slow but yet has deceptive quickness.

maybe paul should have played, after all he did say he was the best player in the world, the ball don’t lie.

hahahahahahaha, hilarious.

haha, yeah true about pp…

i watched one time he couldnt do 8 pull ups…yet he’s so strong with the ball…

he really does have a very strange game…

the interneational teams seem to have better team defense. as far as one on one defense, most of the international players in the NBA are terrible. this is where the US tried to counter that by having these players play together, but from watching the games, there are just too many posessions that the US take off, both on offense and more so on defense. there is no question that the best pure athletes play for team USA, but they consistantly under acheive. the 12th man on some NBA rosters are usually seen torching the US in international play and as a big team US fan it is frustrating to watch. I hope the team usa can play together and play hard on defense and show just what they are capable of.

AC

Why do people get upset.

The US team played AUstralia in a warm up game. Only just won. Australia didn’t play our only NBA player (who isn’t star in that league)

Australia may not win, but if the US team doesn’t play as a team they may not win either.

A Champion Team will beat a team of champions.

If the US team want to redeem pass failures, and that is what they have been, they have to do it as a team and not as individuals because no matter how good one player is they are not going to beat 5 oppositions.

I can remember watching a relay and France beat the US and broke the record. I’m not sure good the French individuals where but pretty damn sure the 4 US athletes where better then the French 4 as individuals.

Even if they lose there still better.

Thank you.

PS - we don’t smoke crack in OZ.

tracy is 6’7-6’8, so go back to smoking crack.

thats all with out shoes dude, thats not how roster height is listed.

put it this way, if we play with a netrual set of rules that arn’t geared to help slow white boys who shoot threes. (i.e. we play with NCAA rules, standard lane, shoort 3 line), the USA would waltz to victory.
