At what meter mark did A-train shut this one down at? Tyson seems to be a magnet for wind.

At about the point Tyson came past him…which was about 75-80m in, last 10m he totally shut it down.

so anytime anyone gets within 1m of him, he gives up. nice. i guess his career aim is to come through 60 in 6.00 then.

I disagree, from the tv footage I’ve seen it looked like Gay passed Powell fairly early on but Powell kept going and wasn’t really losing ground for awhile, until he saw he couldn’t pass Gay and gave up.

Just thinking of this run… I really admire the way Gay has been running. He may not have run the most sub-10’s or the most sub-10’s in a season, and may not have been WR holder but even with this slight “injury” Gay gives 100% in every race he runs. On the other side, if Asafa had the same problem as Gay it would have been all over the press and he would have blamed it for under-performing. I am not saying he has to be the No.1 or “the king of sprint” [self-declared] but he could certainly give 100% in every race he runs.

Left ankle still looks like shit. Not looking any better if you ask me.

Agreed. I’m not certain if it’s a result of the ankle but the 2nd step out of the block appears as though he’s running in mud! It takes a moment to finish that step. Furthermore, he doesn’t appear to be able to sustain that superior hip height he displayed in yester-years. I wish him well.

is it me or does asafa look more muscluar in the arms and shoulders than usual

It’s just you…

-I think Asafa does look a bit more muscular.

-It looks like he eased up and it was before the 90m mark.

-I’m having a hard time understanding the critics because the man ran 9.98 while easing up.

Cause he keeps easing up

That ankle is still a mess. Seeing that it has not healed by now chances are it will affect him the rest of the season.

Asafa will need surgery after the season is over to repair this.

I would believe that. It could be my imagination seeing something it wants to, but it looks like he’s limping at top speed. I can’t see the limp, but I see different body movement depending on whether he’s stepping with his right or left.

Just watched his quarterfinal from Berlin. Not too shabby, huh?

Nothing against the world class critics and I’m an American, but it ain’t over till the fat lady sings.
