Whats the difference, if any, between ZMA sold at other places and the ones at SNAC. Also is there any difference between the caps and drinks?
ZMA is a pattented formula so if it doesn’t have the SNAC mark on it, it isn’t the same. Lots of companies have the SNAC mark on their ZMA.
The drinks absorb faster. I rather like the drinks, but the caps are good too.
So for a guy who’s on a budget, i should just get those 9 dollars ZMA caps found on another site?
I ordered Optimum Nutrtition’s ZMA from Bulknutrition.com, and I was sent their BulkNutrition brand. I sent an e-mail, and they gave me a 10$ coupon code. whoopdee shit. Anyways I just took that, I ordered some more (optimum nutrition)from another site and when I received the bottle it was 2x bigger than the Bulknutrition and so are the pills. The thing is the both claim to have same ratio as snac. I don’t understand, does the optimum nutrition brand use a lot of filler? What size should the caps be?
I’ve taken the Biotest and Snac stuff there both the same
the rest is shit
PROLAB and ALLMAX both use the SNAC ZMA. The capsules are all made in the same place, just put in different bottles. I am quite certain there are others as well. As long as SNAC is on the bottle, and it isn’t ZMA plus anything else, it is good.
I have taken ZMA in the past by reflex and USN, possibly both british companies. However, I have not really noticed any benefits. But I’m not really sure what benefits I should be noticing so I don’t take it any more. Is this foolish of me?
Zinc levels are based on volume and diet. Those that eat well and train moderately will perhaps not need ZMA at all. Biotests ZMA is a big help to those doing doubles are in areas of high heat and humidity.
Many problems in diet can happen if the wrong nutrients (yes nutrients) are combined together…leading to zinc depletion.
zinc I understand is required for muscle growth??? Is that right? Or an over simplist approach? I train 6 days a week, quite intensely, however, I live in Wales-haha! Far from humid man! So not sure if I need it or not really.
I have taken plain Zinc and Magnesium that I picked up from CVS and suprisingly had better results than those of taking SNAC. The main benefit I’ve noticed is much improved sleep, which obviously greatly aids in recovery, hormone balance, etc. Placebo or not, it’s definately worth the 10 bucks a month.
The following is quote from the maker of ZMA.
"The ZMA formulation is proprietary and utilizes a special organic acid to double bond part of the zinc to the aspartic acid molecules together with the magnesium. The other part of the zinc is double bonded to the monomethionine molecules. This is so some of the zinc can be absorbed at the mineral receptor site at the front of the small intestine (monomethionine) and the other part can be absorbed in the back part of the small intestine (active transport) together with the magnesium (aspartate).
Sincerely Victor (Conte)"
Herb, I fully understand those claims. I just decided to try plain zinc and magnesium and experienced the same results. Now, is their claim proven through study or is it merely hypothetical? I theorize mine had a tripe monomethioneological bond compunded with aspartic molecules which tricked my intestines into false absorbtion through monomethione conversion. Lol, whatever floats your boat. Until I graduate later this month, I have to find a compromise between quality and buying on the cheap. Three weeks until I have money in my pockets!
Maybe the other product is now kicking in…tough to compare unless you are doing the same training day in a day out.
