Charlie i was just wondering how many days before a competition both major and insignificant ones also would u have off, also could u recommend a plan of what to do during the week,i need to peak in 31 days im running very flat at the moment ,are ther any predictions of what to expect from going fom an overtrained state to a tapered peak.
If you’re really in an overtrained state, then 10 days of slightly reduced intensity (but not necessarily volume) should bring you around. That would leave 21 days to competition, where, generally you’d resume normal intensity for approx 11 days and reduce slightly for the last 10 day period. Of course, you need to re-examine your previous training to see what “put you over the top” before so you can remedy the situation. The final day or days off approach is very individual, depending on event or events you compete in and your level of performance.
