DanielC101's "Revolution"

Daniel you have potential bro ill be watching this thread…

World Junior standard is 10.74 -> U19

World Youths standard is 11.25/11.00? ->U16

Not sure but dont they rotate from world youth to world juniors from year to year?

how much pop were u drinking, and did those fitness workouts help pushups, situps etc?

Yea, the fitness workouts helped alot. They even helped me to do better at school, I was more focused. Well training in general keeps me focused/disciplined.

I was drinking at least 5 glasses/cans of soda (mainly sprite) everyday of school (monday-friday)

damn i thought i was bad, i have at least one can of pop per day.

DAMN that is ALOT of soda! Good to see you’re cuttin that out.

Yep, dats exactly why I had to start this plan. Actually, its more than a plan, its a lifestyle change.

I dont want to be like some of those former athletes who become overweight or unfit when they stop training/competing. These general exercises and this diet are with me for life so even when Im out of the game ill still maintain.

Workout has been pretty much the same every day, except that now I am not able to include any kind of running because i am in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada since the 27th. The temperature is fluctuating between 3 degrees celcius to -10, with Wind chills of up to -20 degrees!

Jesus Christ

Tells us why you are in Canada, you don’t just fly half way across the world for a laugh.

Whats on the agenda for 2007. You seem to be taking it very easy in training, not really hardcore.

Im in Canada visiting my Big bro and Sis because I havent seen either of them in over a year. I’m going back to Saint Vincent on the 8th tho, so I’ll be able to start back the running elements of my training.

For 2007, my focus is the IAAF World Youth Champs in Ostrava. That is going down from the 11-15 of July but my country’s trials for it are in March. So once I keep striving for a high level of fitness and develop a relaxed running style, everything will fall into place.

I had fallen off alot in the end of 2005 and for the most part of 2006 in terms of fitness. But I am at 191 lbs right now, its not the 180lbs i was aiming for but I feel great and thats what counts.

I believe in increasing the intensity of my training gradually to prevent injuries or unnecessary sores and aches, because one thing I learned the hard way is that a “hardcore” programme, or “intense” workouts don’t always translate into better fitness and faster times.

Now thats better.

thank you

Arg…this has been my hardest week in a loong time, i started my weights program in Canada and im looking to continue it now that I am back in my homeland.

Here is what I have been up to for the past days (every early morning and night):

Warmup on treadmill followed by stretches

3 sets of

10 reps of 120kg bench

rest

6 reps of 150kg squat

rest

warmdown after all 3 sets

Finally determined my 1 rep maximums for the bench and squat

1 rep maximum bench 180kg
1 rep maximum squat 200kg

I was using machines at a gym in tornoto for these though, Im not able to lift so much using free weights

I should start my weight program next week and continue that right up till the friday before February 22nd because thats the day of my school’s annual Track and Field Championships. I am aiming to participate in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay and my coach is convincing my to take a go at the discuss and shot put since im the national under 18 discuss champion at the moment.

Check out the difference in size (and definition) between my right hand and left hand, I noticed it when I was lifting some dumbells today. My left hand is weaker by far (probably because growing up I never use it to lift stuff unless absolutely necessary). Anyhow it is affecting my sprinting mechanics because by right arm swings over 1.5x faster than it which causes me to consiciously slow down the swing of my right arm, or just deal with the discoordination. Any specific ideas on how I could develop my left arm? Exercises, weight lifts etc?

Today starts the “countdown to showdown”, exactly one month before my school’s Annual Track and field Championships. This is my last year of high school so I have to go out wid a bang. I am aiming to get the title of overall champion.

I will reveal my full training plan leading up to the champs by tommorow. But I will tell you this now, come February 22nd the world will get a glimpse of what is to come at this year’s world youth champs

Right now I’m resting for the whole weekend, since I dont train for the shotput and i didnt even have time to warm up, it put a little strain on my quadriceps and back. I will resume training on monday. Right now I am in my last stages of hillwork (4x30m at 100%, full recovery)

u havent updated for a while now… how are things goin?
