Started track mid-march. So far I’ve ran in 3 meets…these are my times so far.

March 23
100m - 12.93
200m - 26.70

First track meet ever. I was satisfied with my time, but I really wanted to get in the 25 range.

April 4
100m - 13.00
200m - 26.80

I ran with right knee pains the whole week. Pain was still there during the meet and I ended up running worst. My motivation was killed.

April 11
100m - 12.23
200m - 25.6

Finally got my 100m time under 12.5 and 200m time in the 25’s. I felt pretty good running in the heat.

Next meet - April 18

Goal
100m - 12.00
200m - 25.00

Trying to get my time down every meet. Wish me luck guys.

Good luck with your meet tomorow. Looks like you’re dropping your times huge. You’ll be running high 11s and 24s in no time.

My coach has me running the 100, 200, and the 400 tommorow. I’ve never ran the 400 before, so I’ll keep you all updated.

Ohh the triple (100, 200, 400). I have never done it before, but I bet it is tough. That 100 should be a little different after your 400  . Good luck!

April 18
100m - 12.3
200m - 25.5
400m - 60.6

I was dissapointed that my 100m time didnt get any better. My 200m time was better, but the referee made me run in the first heat and the blocks that i usually use were already taken by my teammate. I ended up gettin 5th out of 6. I felt like I couldve ran better if I had blocks.

I realize that I hate the 400m. I really dont have enough stamina to run the whole thing.

The meet didnt go as planned, hopefully I can decrease my 100 and 200 time the next meet.

Good job man. You can’t run a PB everytime and you’re coming along real well.

My coach put me in a 4x200 on saturday. It’s a novice event though, so I don’t kno if I am going to be able to get a medal if we place.

I was the last leg in the 4x200 today. It was 40 degrees and raining. I ran:

April 22:

4x200 - 25.1

My coach noticed that I run with my whole foot instead of on my toes. He said switching can take off .5 or more off my time…is that true?

Well anyway, I am happy I got a new PB in the 200. We placed 3rd and I got my first track medal.

You need to be running on the balls of your feet… Is your heal landing first when you are running? It will take some time, but do it in practice and it will come.

Yes run on the ball of your foot, prob one of the most important things.

Practice walking around on the balls of your feet for a bit. Do drills as well.

Yeah I have practice tommorow and then another meet on tuesday. I am going to run on the balls of my feet.

Lol, dont expect to be able to do it just like that. Takes practice, but once u get it u know it and own it

April 25th
100m - 12.7
200m - 27.0
400m - 61.5

I ran so bad today. I have no idea what went wrong. I hope this is just a one day thing. I knew it wasnt going to be good when I didnt feel like stretching or doing drills before hand.

I really can’t believe how bad I did…

I know the feeling well. I’ve never been able to explain it, it just seems like the track gods just sometimes conspire to mess up your days. I get a vague message from my body telling me to go to bed and give up on days like that and I never run well.

Did you run on the balls of your feet?

I tried to on my 100m, but then I guess it didnt work. I tried to run regular on my 200m and i forgot how I even used to run. I am not going to try to learn the running on your balls of my feet until summertime. I don’t wanna have another one of these days.

I ran today…a 100, 200, 400, and 4x400

100 - 12.5
200 - 25.8
400 - 58.3
4x400 First Leg - 58.5

I didnt run to well on the 100 and the 200. The 100 I had a pretty good start, I just didnt run my best. On the 200 the referee called GO before I was even in my set position and I ended up having to play catch-up until the end of the race. I ended up getting 3rd in my heat. I PRed on the 400. I’ve never broke 60 and I did it twice today so that was the main event for me. I got a 3rd place medal from the 4x400.

Overall the meet was pretty good, I’m really happy I PRed in the 400. I think this might be my last track meet of the season. Im gonna be working out in the gym now.
