He is the person I remember seeing 7-8 years ago as a high schooler. There are quite a few clips of him in hig hschool on the compilation vids.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqpbRjhHPqs is impressive too. The jump at 0:12 is almost exactly 48 inches (based on time using frame-by-frame analysis using the .mpeg).
he never really became the great college player he was suppose to be.
the haters on espn is saying D.Howard superman dunk wasnt a dunk, what you guys think?
Honestly I was saying the same thing right after the dunk, but hey if the NBA is so rediculous about not raising the rim up for him which wud be so much more entertaining, all he can do is pretend its 12 feet and throw it down like that.
I had no problem with it and thought it was amazing, but I guess I wouldnt call it a dunk, thats a whole new type of shot.
It is a dunk. A dunk is to throw the basketball down into the hoop from above the rim. It is not related to whether or not the hand touches rim, nor the distance from the rim that the ball is released.
Dude its just an opinion, thats the whole point, people define it differently. If everyone thought it was the same there would be no point of asking.
Considering Dwight’s leaping ability and height, I wonder what his standing long jump might be…
11 feet?
12???
FWIW, back in the 70s Wes Unseld could pull a quarter off the top of the backboard.
That is impressive for any generation, and he was 6’7".
