Cubans Pedroso, Garcia For Budapest

HAVANA, Jan 16 (AFP) - Cuban Olympic champions IvanPedroso and Anier Garcia are to warm-up for their bidsat retaining their titles by competing in the worldindoor athletics championships in Budapest which runfrom March 5 to 7, it was announced here on Friday.
Both Pedroso, the long jump champion, and 110m hurdlesking Garcia have not competed since missing the worldoutdoor championships in Paris last August because ofleg injuries.
The duo will be part of a 30 strong squad who later inthe year will be expected to compete in the Olympics inAthens where the aim will be to improve on the sixmedals (two gold, silver and bronze) picked up in Sydneyin 2000.
The first group of athletes for the world indoorscampaign will arrive in Europe on January 25 to competein meetings round Europe.
