Not everyone on this site agrees with his results. I have read his academic paper, and for the most part it makes sense. He does have a few flaws with his model, and his application of the results though.
I find it helpful to compare what a time might have been with or without the wind, rather than comparing any single race against any other race, since temperature/track/adrenaline/… can change things a lot.
Thanks, what would you pick for the altitude if your city isn’t listed?
I usually ignore the altitude, unless your are significantly higher than sea level. I’m rarely interested in a theoretical time at sea level, but rather a probably time with a different wind. Because of this, I usually use an altitude of 0. How high is your city?
