[COLOR=blue]IOC HAS MORE CONCERNS OVER ATHENS[/COLOR]

ATHENS, July 17 (AFP) - Officials from theInternational Olympic Committee have expressed concernover the staging of events designed to test venues fornext year’s Olympic Games, a report said here onThursday.
The IOC officials are most concerned about the pace ofconstruction work at the swimming venue at Hellenikon,which is due to be tested in April, and the canoeingfacilty, which should be tested in February, the ANAagency reported.
The swimming stadium has already had its test datepushed forward once, after officials decided it wouldnot be ready by December this year.
IOC inspector Denis Oswald warned this month thatconstruction delays would leave little time to assessany faults which needed correcting before the Games openon August 13.
