Just food for thought. I ran a 30 meter timed indoor race back in 95 and did 3 sets of powercleans about 30 minutes before the race. (First set was a triple, second a double and the last a single all reps were extremely explosive and fast)
Ran 3.93 FAT best ever time for me by far in the 30 meter. Normally I was in the 4.0-4.1 range.
I dont know if the cleans helped me for my explosiveness out of the blocks but it sure felt like it did
Cheers,
Chris
ps- I think the order to do the exercises can depend on a couple of things (Whether as a part of warmup or a significant part of the training session)
For instance early in the day if I am doing a speed workout a couple of sets of cleans or some plyometric jump squats sometimes helps me to “wake up” and feel explosive. They are not a main component of the workout but as part of the warmup they can help fire up my CNS for the sprinting ahead.
