CHINA: Party Poopers

:stuck_out_tongue: DOES THIS RULE OUT PLAYBOY GOLF THEN???
BEIJING, May 22 - Nude business promotions have been banned in China, with Beijing taking aim at naked shop models and restaurants where food is served on the bodies of unclothed women, state media said Sunday.

The ban, issued last week by General Administration for Industry and Commerce (GAIC), comes amid the increasing use of nudity or near nakedness to advertise businesses, the Beijing Times and Xinhua news agency said.

In April a Japanese restaurant in the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming came under fire for its promotional ``feast on a beauty’s body’’, in which sushi was served to customers on a naked woman.

The restaurant was later banned from offering such meals.

The GAIC was also alarmed by the rising use of nude models in shops, particularly in the more wealthy eastern coastal cities such as Wenzhou and Zhaoqing, and restaurants serving breast milk.

``Such activities are in violation of common decency and humiliate the human being,’’ Xinhua reported the GAIC as saying.

A restaurant in central China’s Hunan province stirred controversy two years ago when it offered what was billed as the country’s first ever ``breast milk’’ banquet.

Thats too bad. We were thinking of introducing our favorite golf game to our friends in China…shucks!

 LONDON, May 23- British pubs are to ban Happy Hour'' drinking promotions that allow people to consume large amounts of alcohol cheaply and quickly, in an attempt to tackle alcohol-fuelled violence. The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) said in a statement that its 32,000 members would adhere to the ban on Happy Hours and drink-all-you-can schemes with immediate effect. Binge drinking has become a major problem in Britain over the last few years and has turned many town centres into virtual no-go areas on Friday and Saturday nights. Offers like pay STG10 on the door and all drinks are free; drinking games and schemes that encourage people to drink too much too quickly have no place in our sector and we are determined to stamp them out,’’ said Mark Hastings of the BBPA.
``With the backing of the government, the police and licensing authorities across the UK, we aim to ensure that all pubs operate to these standards of corporate and community social responsibility.’’
The BBPA owns nearly two thirds of Britain’s 59,000 pubs.
The move to curb Happy Hour schemes comes ahead of a change in the licensing laws across England and Wales and a plan to allow some bars to stay open 24 hours a day.
Scotland already has extended drinking hours.

The government has said the old system, under which drinkers all spilled out onto the street at the same time as the pubs closed, fuelled drunken fights, vandalism and  vomiting in public.

But alcohol experts, doctors and police officers say later hours will exacerbate binge drinking, liver disease and anti-social behaviour.
