Carl Lewis, the retired track-and-field star who won nine gold and one silver Olympic medals, has listed his home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades for $2.6 million.
Mr. Lewis purchased the home for $1.75 million in 2002 and remodeled the kitchen, pool and backyard, among many improvements.
The Mediterranean-inspired house in the Santa Monica Mountains includes a gazebo, views of the Pacific Ocean and a fish pond with a waterfall. T
he master suite includes a see-through fireplace in between the bedroom and an office/library.
In the 1980s and early '90s, the sprinter and long jumper, whose full name is Frederick Carlton Lewis, also won a number of gold World Championship medals.
His manager says Mr. Lewis volunteers with youth track groups and plans to soon launch a health and lifestyle social-networking Web site.
Edna Gyepes, an agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerages in Pacific Palisades, and Lorene Roberts, with Palisades Realty, have the listing.
