Canada Volleyball breaks Guinness record

Oh great. Our national program sucks so badly that this is the only way they can get press. All it seems to indicate is that neither of the teams could finish the other one off.

WINNIPEG (CP) - Canada Volleyball alumni, junior national team players, volunteers and community supporters joined forces to play a 25-hour, 11-minute volleyball match - breaking the Guinness world record for the longest volleyball game ever played.

The match, which began at 6:19 p.m. EDT on Thursday and concluded at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, broke the previous world record of 24:10, set by a German high school. Canada Black won the marathon game, taking 35 sets to Canada White’s 27. The teams combined to score 2,735 points.
