caffein before power activities?

I had a cup of cofee before my lower body strength training day today, and i was wired and saw a pretty big Pr (by my standards). I don’t normally drink coffee. I know caffein is a cns stimulant, so would it be ideal to take coffee before any power type exersies (ie before sprinting, plyos, races, games etc etc)?

Anything to do with the head pain you had?

well it was during the same workout… but i don’t think its related because i was really stressing on that rep (and i didn’t breath properly). I only had a cup.
