BRUSSELS, Dec 21 (AFP) - Five-time world champion PaulTergat of Kenya warmed up for the 2004 championship instyle on Sunday when he won the Brussels internationalcross-country event.
Tergat, world champion from 1995-1999, defeatedUkraine’s Sergei Lebed and Tom Van Hooste of Belgium whotook second and third places respectively.
The Kenyan’s win was even more remarkable as he wasrunning his first cross-country for three years havingpreferred to concentrate on the marathon and trackevents.
