after seeing this video, i’m inclined to believe if powell ran a straight line the result would have been the same as stockholm, powell by a lean and 1/100th of a second.

He was caught by 90m though - running through wouldn’t have helped him.
Powell seemed off balance for the first 40m of the race. He veered to the left out of the blocks at around 5m, then over to the right at around 15m, and then back to the left at about 40 metres, before he got a straight relaxed line going. It’s hard to say how much hundredths these mistakes cost him.
Bolt rolled up on him at about 80m and passed him at 90m. If Powell wasn’t off balance for that first 40m I believe Bolt would have been rolling up on Powell at around 90m and passing him at 100m. Hence why i believed Powell could have won by a lean as he did in stockholm.
True, but if we’re going to play the ‘if’ game, we have to give Bolt a reasonable reaction time (.165 for hiim), which puts him to 9.71 even without running into a headwind, then down to 9.55 with a tailwind.
I call that a great start. How much did side to side motion cost him? Not much.
where i can download in high quality?
because i hate youtube.
I agree with you on that. However, if you have a relative high speed transmission circuit, you can setup YouTube to playback in high quality.
yes true, hence why i had called him ‘sub 9.6 basic in disguise’ in the “how about bolt” thread
9.77w-1.3 = about a 9.68-9.69-9.70 w0.0
9.68-9.69-9.70 with near perfect 0.123 reaction time, instead of 0.223 = 9.58-9.59-9.60
What do some feel about Powell’s physical appearance? Does he look(not simply looking at the times) physically different to any now than the state he was in weeks ago?
Recall last year that many comments were made as to how much leaner AP appeared in Europe with his w.r. a week or two after the world championships.
