you enter the meet as an unranked kid with nothing to loose and the press turns it into a situation where you’re suddenly expected to win and anything less is a failure despite the fact that you’ve already clocked a PB, which is the most anyone can rasonably ask of an athlete at their first big meet. Any medal this kid gets is great and a big step up and someone should tell him and get the jerks off his back.
