Hmmm, I thought it was after inhalation that speed increased. I think I had better check the bible again…

nic, I wouldn’t worry about trying to conciously control the breathing pattern during a sprint. It will happen on it’s own. The only thing you should think about is pumping your arms. Charlie’s observations in the training manual are simply an explanation of the acceleration patterns in high level sprinting, and not coaching cues.
