Boxing

i agree with Numba56.
Hypertrophy for hypertrophy sake is a waste of time in boxing and can get you hurt. You can’t build bigger bones or ligaments or tendons. Bernard Hopkins is a much better and more skilled fighter than Lennox Lewis (Lewis is very good). However if Hopkins were to lift and roid his way up to heavyweight, even with low bodyfat like the Mr. Olympia fellas, his bones, tendons and ligaments would be the same size and a Lewis right would do alot more damage to Hopkins than a Hopkins right to Lewis.
At the world class level, the training those guyz go through is so intense (on the CNS and everything else) there is little room for weights, especially the last 8 weeks of camp before a title bout.

yes and no, unfunctional hypertrophy is a bad thing, but if hopkins lifted functionally and came out to 190 well hed be fine(except I have no doubt in my mind that he wouldnt, he conditions way to much to even fathom going that high, id say a 5-8lb gain at the most…), I wanna be I wanna be I wanna be like mike(view below, the power, the leaness, the speed, the agility)
