Something just struck me while I was watching the James Toney vs. John Ruiz fight. Why do boxers use only water for fluid replacement during fights? I mean boxers still seem to be way behind the loop on training with the endless mileage and fatigue-session after fatigue session and virtually no nutritional support, but it strikes me as plain stupid to just use water for a fight that can last so long.
It’s a traditional regulation in the boxing world, that the boxers drink water. Depends on the organization as well some permit sports drinks some don’t.
Got ya. Thanks for the response.
I think Gatorade and the like are starting to be allowed by certain states now.
That’s a sweet avatar.
