Yes, Body/Strength Ratio, not T/E ratio i’m talking about here…
Assuming we have two male models, A and B
A is 170cm tall and weighs 65kg
B is 182cm tall and weighs 83kg
They both are lean and muscular and have been training weights for 3 years now ( lets suppose they started training together)
However, A seems to be as strong as B in lifting weights, allthough he has less overall muscle mass compared to B.
For example: A and B both do 10* 20kg standing dumbell biceps curls
A and B both have a 1RM of 28kg
A measures 40cm arms (bi-triceps)
B measures 46cm arms
Is it then so that A is stronger than B?
Or do they have same level of strenght?
Or something else?
What did I forget here? Whats the correct answer on this one?
Measurements don’t mean a lot as they don’t take into account fat stores, water retention, bone width and length, etc. Muscle insertion points and limb lengths also must be taken into consideration. In this exercise, they have the same strenght, but the level at which each is developed is hard to say since the shorter, lighter individual may have arms that allow for curling better while the taller, bigger individual may have long arms, causing a huge ROM.
