Which type of box jump is better for a sprinter to use non-weighted higher box jumps or slightly lower weighted jumps?
I imagine the correct answer is a combination of both, however would you do weighted one day and non-weighted another or go non-weighted to weighted back to non-weighted to be able to go at an ever higher height non-weighted the second time?
u should do most of ur box jumps using just bodyweight… there are some profootball teams that will have there players do them with 40-100lbs db onto a 24in box.
How to combine plyometrics with sprinting is discussed in the Forum Review 02 Ebook. It also shows how you should periodise your jumps to coincide with the stage you are in your training. GPP DVD also discusses this briefly and demonstrates some of these methods.
