Baseball cleats for football?

Would it be fine using baseball cleats to play football on a grass field?

If you are playing organized ball the refs might make you change your shoes. This is done to protect you and your competitors from injuries. I was a asst. coach for a soccer team this fall and the refs hated to see the players in metal cleats.

Not if they have a metal cleat.

On a whole, usually no. Baseball cleats have longer more unshaped cleats (the actual cleat itself). This is becuase they are designed to grip dirt. It’s ok in the outfield because they don’t have to cut left and right, it’s usually a striaght line to the fly ball. Football cleats are designed in a spherical form, thus allowing for traction while making very sudden cuts. Because of the way they are designed and for the field, baseball cleats tend to grib grass alot tighter then football cleats, which could lead to a nasty injury if someone were to be hit while cutting in the opposite direction.

Your best bet is to get on eastbay.com and get a pair of cleats on sale.
